Sugar

A new sweet shop called SUGAR has come to Budapest and two of my favorite girls went with me to find it!!

Its located in Northern Pest and its tucked away in a random district. We found it with the help of Attis' directions!

You walk in downstairs and its a normal confectionary shop but when you walk upstairs you have time warped yourself to the 50's or 60's candy/soda shop! It has a place for cute cakes, cupcakes, mousse, slushies( which we got) and then there is a candy shop with jelly beans, pop rocks, huge lolipops and so much more!

It was a blast to go and have fun with the girls there!

Down by the River Bank

This a picture of Aaron, Eniko, me and Kristin right after sunset.
One of my favorite things of this early summer has been to go and buy some drinks and snacks and go to the banks of the Danube and hang out with my friends.
As the night falls we watch the lights turn on in Buda and watch the boats go by filled with tourists. I love sitting on the steps and just talking and watching the city grow dark.

Here are the pretty lights with the pretty girls!
Its so peaceful and a calm in the midst of the crazy city and life that so often encompasses us. If you ever come to visit then we will have to do this too!

Class Trip to Debrecen

2 weeks ago (woah time flies) I went to Debrecen with my 12th graders. It was a blast and I absolutely loved almost every moment of it... without going into great details here's what happened....
Friday:
2 kids not showing up to the train, we leave anyways and board the train for a very stuffy 3 hour ride.
Speak Hungarian with my colleague
arrive in Debrecen and go to the Weekend Camp place..hang out
Find 6 puppies in the forest and bring them back to the camp with us
Hang out with the kids

Saturday:
Wake up speaking Hungarian
Tour the City of Debrecen
Back to the Camp to dinner and play poker and then...
Make Smore's!! Which the kids loved!!
Wake up suddenly to a Fire Alarm at 210am b.c. a kid smoked in their room. .
Play McGuivor (sp?) and have a kid clip the wire cuz the alarm won't go off.
Sunday:
Wake up very groggily
Did I mention speak a lot of Hungarian this trip
Eat breakfast and go to the city to visit a few more sites
Board train for another stuffy 3 hour ride..

I have to say that it was an amazing trip for me. I cannot tell you how thankful I am for the opportunity to be with my kids for 72 hours and hang out. We are closer and there are great relationships built because of this! Thanks for supporting my ministry and praying for these opportunities!! woohoo!

Funny Signs

One thing I love about living in Hungary is funny sings. Aaron, a great friend found this sign while I was ordering food in Subway. Quick-handed individuals .. watch out!

Vienna--again

I went to Vienna this weekend.. i got up at 4am to take the 555am train to Vienna. It was a three hour ride where I slept.. almost the whole way. There was a nice Hungarian lady who came into my compartment at the outer Budapest station and it was only us the whole way. We talked some in Hungarian..

...let me say.. i don't think I can speak very good Hungarian BUT I can carry on a conversation and it was quite fun!!..

I arrived and went straight to the Hunter's tower apartment! Stacey greeted me at the door and Brad was flippin Cracker Barrel pancakes! :-) YUM. Then we hung out and headed out the door to go to a castle which was about 40 min away. It was a true bonafide castle with a moat!! It was awesome. We walked around the grounds, played on the playgrounds, ate a picnic, frolicked in some fields :-) and took lots of pictures!

The castle was amazing and I felt like I had walked right into the a fairy tale. I wish I had brought my camera but I can borrow Stacey's pictures!

We went to their church that evening and then we came back to the house to make smore's on the grill ! it was great! i ate lots of marshmellows!!

The next morning I got to sleep in and we ate omlette's then we went to a park and had weiner schnitzel...yum. Dad we are going back to this place it was the best! Then we had my favorite Ice Cream and I bought a bag of Starbucks beans!

Here's a pic from Stacey's blog.. of course i enjoyed my ice cream and espresso right on the moat!

YUM! Thanks Stacey and Brad for a restful, encouraging weekend in Vienna!! LOVE You guys!

Romania and Communication

This past week/weekend was spent in Romania. It was my first time to this part of Europe. Now, we were in Romania but we were in the Hungarian part of Romania which has been taken from the Hungarians. We were in the middle of the Carpathians and it was absolutely beautiful!! I will post pictures soon! I haven't had such a great time in a long time.

We talked about communication.. the art of it, the obstacles of it..
What is or are the obstacles that hinder your relationship with God??
On our 12 hour drive today we talked about this.. these were some answers that were thrown out..business, pleasing people, stress, other people, frustrations, ...

then we asked the question..
When are the most communicative times between you and God?

....what do you think?
