Loving Colorado

I'm here in Colorado and I'm loving it!! I am attending my classes and developing relationships which has been AWESOME!!

I've met a great friend named Kristina who is from Wisconson and she is moving to Bucharest Romania which is super exciting. We have spent our free time together hiking, hanging out and talking. Yesterday we walked to Starbucks.. 3miles on a trail one way. We got back and it was dark and well kinda scary :-) We also got to see a thunderstorm roll in over the Mountains which was awesome!

I've also been in very close contact with a family .. the Hunters http://www.5hunters.blogspot.com/ who are moving to Vienna with World Harvest! They have three kids and they are so much fun. Stacey and I have had a few times to hang out and talk and its been great! I can't wait to visit with them.

Its super dry here and i'm drinking water and keeping the chapstick on! I'm going for another hike around Palmer Lake later after dinner and I'm sure I'll take more pics but I'm going to post pics from the area tonight!

oh and .. I'm learning a lot about what I'm going to encounter!! YEah missions!

Happy Memorial Day

I have just spent an amazing weekend with my family! It has been restful and very fun. We've eaten great food, had lots of laughs and watched too much tv :-) We celebrated Father's Day a bit early since this is our last time as a family!

Yesterday, we went to Eastern Market in DC and ran into a great friend Daniel from High School at Murky Coffee which had awesome coffee..mmmm Americano's.. My good friend Jonny came to visit too and it was of course great to see him and my sister's boyfriend Dylan!

Tommorow I leave for Colorado and I'm looking forward to it very much. I cannot wait to spend time reading and learning about being a missionary!! Please think of me in the next few weeks. I will have internet so I"ll keep you posted. Only one month and 1 day till I fly to Budapest! Exciting!

Back In da Ville

Well, I said good bye to Lynchburg last night. Pretty sad. It was closing a chapter of my life. As I drove over the James River Bridge moving into Madison Heights, I looked onto Downtown Lynchburg which I really enjoyed these past few months. So many memories washed over me and I moved on up 29N and I am GRATEFUL for my years spent at LU.

I was also able to enjoy dinner with some close friends before I left and one of my best guy friends, Justin created my monogram out of candles!! It was the perfect touch :-)

This morning, Dad and I hiked to the top of Humpback Rocks. It was quite the hike and we did so at 6am. I was so proud of Dad for hiking up to the top, it was no easy climb. Once on top though, its amazing you could see for miles and miles on both sides of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was a good hike for the morning but now I'm tired....

Its good to be back in Charlottesville.. in one day I was able to consume Greenberry's and Bodo's!!

I'm Graduated

On Saturday, I graduated with my BA in Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language. It was a whirlwind of a day and emotions. Our Chancellor and beloved pastor, Dr. Jerry Falwell died on Tuesday of the previous week and it was very sad to not have him there.

I was able to sit on the very front row, listen to a great address by Newt Gingrich (sp?) and start the wave that the whole stadium participated in :-)

Family and friends were there and it was a great great time.

So now, university is over.. I am an official adult with a college degree. That chapter of my life is over and now I'm ready to move on. Yet, moving on brings more emotions that I had not anticipated.

I was reading my Bible this morning and I read this passage which I thought was perfect for my next chapter in my life.. this is my prayer for those I will interact with in Hungary!

Psalm 67

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us,
that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.
May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you.
May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples justly
and guide the nations of the earth.

May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you.
Then the land will yield its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us.
God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear him.
